My husband and I adopted our son in Kazakhstan in Dec; 2003; Recently our adoption agency has made changes to the post-adoption requirements and is now requiring "self-reporting" on a yearly basis after the first three years of visits with our social worker; The self-reports will be sent through our adoption agency and will need to be translated, noterized, etc; and a $50 fee will be charged each year until our son is 18 years old; Has anyone else adopting from Kazakhstan had notice of this change? I would like to get more information;

My nationality is Kazakh and I live in Australia; I found so many people don't know what coutry Kazakhstan is it's got to my nerves they only know the part former Russia; Which streight away makes them think I'm Russian and why I don't look like one; Anyway I started to get interested in the country I'm from; Most people think it's poor but I don't think so it looks very traditional and interesting;

Kazakh is one of the ethnic groups in China, so there are big amounts of Kazakh people in Xinjiang province in China; I am a kazakh girl from China, and if there's any one from the same area, it would be a great thing i bet!! I am going to study in the UK for a master degree this Sep; I defered my ma study last year because of my health problem which is getting much better now; The interesting thing was that when i introduced myself in Manchester University that i am a kasakh student from China, they were very surprised, as they thought there is only Han Chinese in China; However, the truth is that there are 55 ethnic groups in China except Han people which is absolutely the majority part; Anyway, i want to say "thank you very much" for making this wonderful website for people from different background are able to communicate here;
